As a leaf spring flexes up or down, its length from main eye to shackle eye changes. Since one end is mounted solidly (the main eye), and cannot move, length changes occur at the shackle end of the leaf pack. TJM greaseable shackles allows regular greasing to lubricate the bushes with no dismantling required for access.

When new springs are installed on your vehicle, reusing the existing U-bolts could create a potentially dangerous situation. This XGS U-bolt is 14 x 62 x 180mm with a square top (B) and should be used when upgrading to TJM leaf springs. If the original U-bolt is reused the pitch of the thread may be stretched, which can cause the U-bolt nut to loosen, thereby causing the spring pack to become loose. We highly recommend replacing U-bolts when new springs are installed. TJM XGS U-bolts are matched in length to our XGS leaf spring range to accommodate the increased spring stack height.

TJM XGS U-bolts are matched in length to our leaf spring range to accommodate increased spring thickness. This XGS U-bolt is 14 x 62 x 210mm with a forged top drivers side for Toyota Hilux front suspension and should be used when upgrading to TJM leaf springs. We recommend replacing factory fitted U-bolts when new springs are installed. The thread of your vehicle’s existing U-bolts thread may have stretched from usage and could work loose with the installation of a new spring pack.
